Since 1993, Jurques Zoo has achieved European recognition
by becoming a member of the EAZA, which enables it to participate in
European programmes for the breeding of endangered species such as the
Siberian tiger, the South American tapir and the snow leopard.
Animal
parks participate actively in the ecological equilibrium of the planet’s
fauna.
When a park wishes to present a new species, it refers to the
E.A.Z.A., which has the mission of promoting all sorts of
cooperation for the purpose of advancing conservation of the natural milieu
via E.E.P.s
The EAZA puts the park in
contact with the coordinator for the species concerned. The coordinator
inspects the applicant park’s infrastructures in order to assess whether
they are well adapted and checks their compliance with standards.
